Anthem

Ayn Rand’s Anthem told an exciting story about how the future could be. I enjoyed reading this book because the genre was different that what I usually read. Equality 7-2521 lived in a world controlled by the government, and he was one of a few people that had free will.

Anthem took place in the dark ages of the future where all choices were made for men. But one man chose to defy the natural order. Through torture and hardship, Equality 7-2521 fought to escape the controlled government he lived in with his love Liberty 5-3000.

The theme of this book is that there is always hope even in despair. He was a great example of fighting for what you believe in, even when the odds were against him. While reading this work of fiction I was reminded of The Giver by Lois Lowry, which I read in the seventh grade. Both books had to do with controlled worlds with no choices.

I strongly recommend reading this book because Anthem was a different book. While reading this book, I thought about how odd life would be if my life was like that of Equality 7-2521’s. This novel was a really pleasurable read.

To Perfect My World...

One problem that must be solved in order to bring the world together as one is that we should fight to stop terrorists and dictatorships. We should strive to make every nation on Earth democratic and we should stop supporting terrorist organizations.

The only real solution that could really and truly bring the world together through is Jesus. In my opinion, He is the source of happiness, and the world is not happy, the world is selfish. This is why we have missionaries going to dangerous places throughout the globe to spread His word. Once every person alive is converted to Christianity, the world will be one, but once that happens, the world will no longer exist as it does today.
