Over the past three years, I have worked day and night on this project in order to help humanity. But none of this would have been possible without my friends and colleagues. On May 17, 2023, I accomplished my goal of curing cancer. Ever since I was a teenager, I have wanted to become a doctor, and in 2019, I graduated medical school in Little Rock, Arkansas, at U.A.M.S. It was there that I began my in depth research on cancer. There are three important groups that I owe this accomplishment to. My parents & friends, my colleagues, and God. Without them, I would not be here in front of over 12,000 people giving this acceptance speech.
I would first of all like to thank everyone for nominating me for this prestigious award and voting for me. I am grateful from the bottom of my heart. I must say that this award is only icing on the cake. The true award is knowing that I am able to save thousands of lives with this cure, and the feeling of accomplishment it has provided me with. Yearning for this feeling is why I became a doctor and worked so hard throughout my life.
Without my family and friends pushing me from the beginning, none of this would have been possible. Though their constant encouragement and trust in me, they have helped me to reach my goals, and I will always be thankful for them. Next I would like to thank my colleagues at the research hospital. Without their guidance and support, I never would have found my breakthrough. Lastly and most importantly, I am going to thank God for bestowing this accomplishment to me. Without Him nothing is possible, and He has helped me to reach my goals the most.
This Nobel Peace Prize will forever be cherished my me, and I am very thankful to the world for giving me such a high honor. This is only part of the work doctors must due to ensure that lives are not lost.
